Just Came In

Couple of pics just after the purchase. Lot of work to be done. It seams more work on the trailer then on the actual boat. Lights and turn signals do not work, and there is a lot of rust around. However, have original sails and everything seem to be in good shape on the boat besides centerboard and rudder. Probably will need to re-fabricate those. Will see....

1979 Capri Omega 14 Stats

1979 Capri Omega 14

This Capri Omega 14 sailboat has a fiberglass hull and an LOA of 13.75 feet (length over all). The boat has a 58 inch beam. This sailboat is set up to sail as a Sloop. The craft has 108 square feet of sail area. Displacement for the boat is 295 lbs. The draft of this sailboat is approximately 3'6". (For those brand new to sailing, draft is important to remember since you can run aground if you venture into waters which are too shallow.)

Sailing is a wonderful activity and can provide you and your family and friends with many hours of enjoyment. For the sake of safety, we highly recommend sailing classes since sailing can be a fun, yet challenging activity where skill and technique are important.

New - Old Capri Omega

Purchased an old Capri Omega 1979 sailboat. Lot of work, but hope that I will able to launch her in the new light in spring of the 2009.
She already got the name. "Barbarossa" as the famous Turkish Pirate Aruj Barbarossa.
